Printed Journals
Printed journals are for reference only and may not be borrowed.
list of our printed journal holdings. Printed journals are
stored in three locations:
Current issues:
Current issues are shelved on display units next to the comfy
seating area. They are arranged in alphabetical order by journal
title. The latest issues can be found on the sloping display
shelves. Further issues from the current year are stored behind the
hinged display shelves.
Back issues:
Back issues published within the last ten years are stored on
the main library shelves. They are arranged in alphabetical order
according to journal title.
Archive collection:
Issues published over ten years ago are kept in our basement.
Library members can order photocopies of articles from this
collection. Please complete an archive
collection request form for each article or email
LH.library@nhs.net with
your references.
The charge for this service is 5p per page. Please allow 24
hours for requests to be processed. Please allow longer for a large
number of requests.
Interlibrary Loans
Staff, with the exception of bank staff and volunteers, can request
articles held in other libraries. Please complete an article
request form for each item. Please note that you must
join the
library before you can order items. Photocopies of
articles will normally be sent to your department. Please notify
library staff if you prefer to collect your requests from the
library. You should allow a minimum of 7 working days for articles
to arrive. A large number of requests may take longer to process.
Charges may apply to some requests.
The Librarian’s discretion may be used to limit the number of
requests made by any one individual, particularly if the requests
require photocopies from those libraries that attract heavy
charges.
