CHKS Top 40 Hospital
Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust has been named as one of
the CHKS 40 Top Hospitals for the third year running. These awards
celebrate excellence amongst UK NHS trusts and are based on the
evaluation of 21 key performance indicators covering safety,
clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient
experience and quality of care.
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony in London
hosted by CHKS, the UK’s leading independent provider of healthcare
intelligence and quality improvement services.
Tim Higginson, Chief Executive of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust
said: ‘I am delighted that the hard work of our staff and their
continuing dedication to improving patient care has been recognised
with this award for the third year running.
“These are exciting times for the Trust, and we are making a
number of improvements at the hospital. These include opening
a new birth centre last year and outpatient building in April of
this year, upgrading A&E facilities and developing a new Urgent
Care Centre.”
James Coles, Director of Research, CHKS, said: “We are delighted
that Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust is one of our 40Top Hospitals
