Raising Patient Safety Concerns
The safety of our patients is the number one priority of
the Trust. We have an honest and open culture and encourage our
staff to highlight any patient safety or quality concerns that they
may have. We take any such concerns very seriously, and will
always act immediately to investigate and address
them.
Following recent media coverage about “gagging clauses” in the
NHS in general, we want to stress that we would not restrict the
right of our staff to speak about patient safety issues.
Indeed, we support staff who bring forward concerns about safety
and quality, and have a policy around this covering ‘whistle
blowing’. You can read this by clicking here.
The Trust also has a Patient Advisory and Liaison Service (PALS)
which provides a confidential advice and support service to help
members of the public address any concerns they may have about the
care we provide. For more information on PALS, click here.
